One of only two visiting schools to win on the road was THE Langston University Lions, in their first NAIA FCS appearance since 1994, posted their second ever FCS win by taking out MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 20-14. The LU defense forced four turnovers in wiping out MNU from the first round for the second straight season.
Up next for LU in the 2nd Round lies unbeaten & #2 Ranked The University of Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls, S.D. USF is currently riding a 33-game winning streak and are ranked #2 in the nation. These two teams have never faced each other in FCS play. USF is looking for its eighth shut-out on the year, which would tie the national record in a single-season.
This is a big deal for Langston, there aren't that many HBCU's that are highly competitive in NAIA College Football (NAIA = D2/D3 College Football) and they are putting the smack down on these cats. At 9-2, both losses this year came against NCAA Division I opponents Grambling State and Stephen F. Austin. This article is more about the crib and my school, so if you don't feel it then come back tomorrow. But I know you do, because tiny LU is about to take over the college football landscape. GET AT ME!
