Could the G-Men Replace Plax with Anquan?

(From ESPN Insider) While some players explicitly stated it and others just hinted at it, the New York Giants certainly missed wide receiver Plaxico Burress during the final few weeks of the 2008 season and in their playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. According to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, they might find a solution by looking to Burress' offseason workout buddy.

Anquan Boldin had been upset with the Arizona Cardinals leadership since the team reneged on upgrading his contract before the 2008 season, and his well-publicized escapades during the fourth quarter of the NFC Championship game and afterwards certainly did nothing to endear him to the team or its fans. Boldin is due $2.75 and $3 million over the next two seasons, a figure the Giants could easily cover.

At 6'1", Boldin lacks the vertical size that Burress brings to the game at 6'5", but he is known around the league as one of the most physical wide receivers and earned quite a bit of respect by returning to game action just three weeks after suffering two facial fractures against the New York Jets.

In spite of the speculation as to his future in 2009 and beyond, Boldin was unwilling to comment on the rumors, saying, "Thinking about what somebody else needs and what somebody else wants doesn't help me at all. I'm here to win a Super Bowl and that's it."

I wonder if Anquan isn't the only WR option that would be a great fit for the Giants. I could easily see TJ "Who's Ya Mama?" Houshmandzadeh donning the red, white, and blue. Or, what about this...KEEP PLAXICO BURRESS??? There's no one that can guard #17 except for a gun holster. LMAO! Ok I'll stop...I kid, I kid.

WHAT SHOULD THE GIANTS DO? RESIGN #17, OR GO GET AN ANQUAN, TJ, CHAD, OR JUST DRAFT A TOP END RECEIVER?

Better idea: The Giants bring back Plax … and the Eagles go get them some Anquan.

    Get "Housh-yo-Mamma"

    Disciplined, underrated STUD.

Ocho wouldn't work for Coughlin and Plaxico isn't returning.

Boldin is #2 option to TJ.

Anquan isnt going anywhere. With all this Larry love going around, people are forgetting how good this guy is. Matter of factly, HE was the receiver KILLING teams for the majority of the season. Boldin had every right to be upset...Cards will pay him if they're smart.

Q isn't the only WR that may come on the market. Ocho Cinco has stated he wants out. TJ as well. Marvelous Marvin Harrison if the Colts let him go (although his productivity is up for debate)
The if the Boys don't bring back TO...

Rev Revere has it right just bring back Plax. His leverage was strengthened with the Gmen bowin out at home to the Iggles.

I like this idea, true he doesnt have the size of Plax but not many do.

Besides Amani Toomer is getting up there on miles and the back ups leave something to be desired.

I would take TJ, but I doubt the Bengals are going to let him go, they don't even want Chad. Chad wouldn't work with them and he is far from Plax's height. Plax is going to jail, we need to accept that.

I've been a big fan of Boldin since the FSU days, and have seen him make the transition from college to a premier receiver in the league. With that being said, I hope he doesn't leave, so him and Fitzgerald can terrorize opposing secondaries for years to come. It's always hard though when "contract, underappreciated, and disrespected" are in the equation.
