The Four Point Play (The Saga Continues)

ONE: Say It Ain't So – The Recent Ben Aura (Roethlisberger) Saga

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault, from an incident that stemmed last year. Ben Aura’s my dude, and I sincerely hope he didn’t do it. However, I’m not going to simply dismiss the woman’s claim that it could have happened. For folks who are saying she should have said something right then, it simply isn’t that easy to come out and say that, simply because she could get black-balled, and worse, no one would take it seriously. Times like these are when I’m glad I don’t have to get my hands dirty with this kind of stuff. We’ll just have to wait and see.

TWO: LeBron, You Should be Ashamed of Yourself – The Jam Heard ‘Round the World Saga

As Ed and other people have said, if The King had simply let this ride, and not try to hide the tape, this wouldn’t have been a big deal. Jordan Crawford can do nothing for the rest of his basketball life, but since Nike and The King made this bigger than it really was, he’ll become an Urban Legend, and he’ll forever be known as “the dude who boomed on LeBron.” Sucks it had to be that way, especially because it was a regular jam; it wasn’t “The Lister Blister,” or Pippen on Ewing, or even T-Mac on Shawn Bradley (now THAT WAS UGLY).

THREE: Just Let Him Play Already – The Michael Vick Saga

Anyone who follows this site knows how I feel about Vick getting another shot to play. It’s simple; re-instate the man, and let him play. I’m tired of hearing this “if he shows remorse” crap. What does that even mean??? He did his time, lost all of his money, so that’s more than enough remorse, in my opinion. Besides, lets not act like there aren’t teams who won’t pick dude up; they’re just waiting on the green light from Roger Goodell, and he’ll be on a team in no time.

AND ONE: All Hail Jesse Holley – The Cowboys Have Our Fourth Wide Receiver Saga

When this show first came on, I honestly thought it was a joke, but after watching it more and more, and seeing Holley do his thing and win 4th and Long, I truly believe he can make the Cowboys team as our fourth wide receiver. The only receivers that I’m absolutely sold on are Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton. Miles Austin can stretch the field, but he’s injury-prone. Sam Hurd is good, but he also has issues staying healthy. Stanback hasn’t had a chance to prove himself, because he can’t stay on the field either. It isn’t entirely unrealistic that Holley will make the team. The more I think about it, I don’t see how he can’t.

YOU ALL THINK THE MEDIA IS GIVING BIG BEN A PASS? WTF WAS LEBRON AND NIKE THINKING? IS VICK SUITING UP IN '09? WHO'S APPLYING FOR 4TH AND LONG NEXT YEAR? LOL, LET US KNOW!

Be easy.

I'm glad the 4 point play is back.

I heard about Ben on sportsonmymind.com. Good writers.

Let me say this about Vick, LET HIM PLAY! I feel like the mainstream wants him contrite before they let him back in. Fact is, he will be playing...and very soon.

The Boys wont do it with Roy alone, Holley has a chance.

I can't believe the crap someone has to go through to get work these days. Michael Vick had a ridiculous crime and he did the time. (More than anyone else has been punished for this crime when you figure how much money he lost.) That being said, he is the one at fault, he has been punished, he should be allowed to go back to work. This crap about remorse is BS. If killing animals was a horrific crime, PETA should be classified as a slaughterhouse. Their animal adoption program has killed over 2000 pets and adopted less than 20. PETA needs to SHUT UP!!

As for Holley, he's got a shot. I just think they took the wrong receiver. I liked Hawkins much better. Holley has skill and potential, but he is exactly the same as Sam Hurd and Stanback.
Hawkins was elusive, and fundamentally perfect. He'd help as a receiver, returner, gunner, whatever you needed.

All in all, I LOVED the 4th and Long series. I would like to see every team adopt this. How many guys to you read about getting picked up on waivers, etc. and then never hear about them again. This guy has been put through the wringer and given personalized training from Hall of Fame athletes. If he can't make the team, it's all on him. The way it should be.

the woman is lying.. seriously she claims it's been a year since it supposedly happened... hmm...

sick of the vick stuff as well. let the man play, i am one of the few who doesnt believe he should've even been jailed in the first place and a few game suspension would've been ideal... he's way overdone his dues
