For the past three seasons, you know exactly what you’re gonna get when he’s on the floor. He makes the game totally easy for everyone he plays with. Simply put, everyone is a threat when he’s conducting the show. He makes the right basketball play, not just the shot. Some people get those confused, but watch the Jazz play, and you’ll see exactly what they do, and it all starts with him. The man doesn’t have a single weakness as a point guard; not one. He’s got the size to keep opposing point guards in front of him, and he’s way too much to handle offensively.
They’re right in the middle of the Western Conference playoffs, where they’ll be facing Denver in the first round. This can be the stage for him to continue to solidify his standing as an elite point guard, as well as get some love for the NBA MVP. We all know The King is the undisputed MVP this season, but for the sake of argument, Williams is one of several players who a case can be made for. However, the MVP is pretty much sewn up for The King, but it's totally realistic that Williams should be All-NBA First Team. Whether that will actually happen is another story; remember, he just made his first All-Star team this season, after getting robbed for the last couple of seasons, so I won’t hold my breath in anticipation of the NBA doing the right thing.
It’ll take a monumental effort from the entire Jazz team for them to beat Denver, but if there’s one player I have no concern about when it comes to showing up and showing out, it’s Williams. He’s made his presence felt in every single postseason he’s been involved in, and when the playoffs start this weekend, the only thing that will be any different is the opponent.
