My take? Ed, you're comparing apples to oranges. The NFL, and other sports for that matter, isn't like any other business. Players get traded all the time, and yes, even good players get traded. It's part of the game.

It's not like the Broncos were freely shopping Cutler. There was a chance they could Cassel, a guy the new coach was familiar and comfortable with, so he inquired about it. I'm sure there are hundreds of players whose names come up in trade discussions, and you barely ever hear about it.

Cutler is pissed because he was talked about being traded, like just about everyone in league is. Ridiculous. Man up. Grow up. Who wants a leader that's just going to demand that everything is his way all the time? Gotta say Ed, your point is understandable, but way off-base for the subject matter.

The comparisons with McNabb are off, for one very good reason. Kolb was the heir apparent not the new king! McNabb was/is/will be the man in Philly no matter who comes riding into town.

The one thing NFL QBs have to hang their hats on is confidence; of the head coach, the owner, and teammates. The head coach removed that.

Let's play this out, how do we know that this wouldn't happen to Jay again at a later time. Obviously, McDaniels wants another signal callers.

I dont think there's anything Schlereth said that wasnt on point. In fact, I thought he was rather kind. I agree that the Broncos will stink w/o him. They stunk WITH him.

So the new coach tried to get a QB he's familiar with...thats not exactly unchartered territory. So he DOES come off as a spoiled brat, primadonna type. Maybe he is, maybe he isnt. Whatever...thats the prevailing perception. Curious to see where he winds up and if he succeeds.

Donovan McNabb had the same thing happen to him in a way with the Eagles when they drafted Kolb, and even when he got benched in the 2nd half against Baltimore, or even when Garcia led them to the playoffs and what did he do every time? He didn't ask to be traded, instead he went out there like a man and showed them he was the best QB.

It's ok to feel disrespected, but he's running away from the challenge, instead of meeting it head on and maning up and showing the Broncos who's the best QB. That's how you stick it to 'em, then when you're a free agent you go somewhere else.

The commentor is an idiot, but Cutler's still a baby. He's a good QB, but that's not how a leader should act, just look at your boy Donovan. He should be using it as motivation to be even better.
