I've been in a sea of Chad-haters for years...He stands out on a team without stand outs. He seems to be quite the scap-goat. Unfair.
Last year, no QB, running game or O-line. An injured Ochocinco had no chance at success.

I think T.J needed Chad more than Chad needed TJ. Chad demands safety help, T.J. slips in for the short yardage that is vacant because the safety is running down field. Time will tell...

Just a reminder especially for those from Cincinnati, you have to remember how quick Bengals fans can be to turn on the team and/or a player and how quick they come back to love them. Chad works hard and for the most part his teammates seem to like him, but it all comes down to performance and the team winning. Team was doing well everybody loved everybody else just how it is.

Will say though everything Chad said last summer was true, the team wasn't doing anything to get better and it showed when the season started. The way he went about it didn't seem to be the best but we don't know what happened behind the scenes either...

90% of Bengals fans love Chad regardless. I'm one of them! Its like this...Chad's a grown man, and all grown men take criticism at some point in their lives. Die hard Bengals fans who have suffered through so many years of losing refuse to sympathize with any player who wants out for any reason. Its called being a fan. Chads been productive for a long time and were appreciative....but when you blatantly and publicly downgrade an already humiliated fan base and city by ranting and raving that you want out, all the while sitting out valuable practices, your no good to the team..as apparent LAST YEAR. Things are looking up for Chad THIS YEAR and we love it and still love him regardless....but of course were not just going to forget about what happened..and we certainly don't blame JUST Chad...thats for certain. *Bravo* throws rose petals at Ed's big a$$ feet. Very well written. I've been silently routing for the Bengals since Marvin Lewis took the HC position. I respect Chad's attitude and his hustle. He loves the game and its sad when folks criticize him for his antics that are meant for fun.

I’ve been in Cincy all my life. I’ve been a Bengals fan all my life. I stayed with them through David Klingler, Akili Smith, and David Fulcther.

Hands down Chad Johnson is the best player the Bengals have ever had in terms of his relationship with Cincinnati’s black community. When you see Chad in the club he is always polite. You don’t have to worry about Chad being drunk in the club (i.e. Peter Warrick who flew back in from Seattle to kick it at Bella on weekends LAIM). You don’t have to worry about Chad, smacking your girl on the ass (see Chris Henry). You don’t have to worry about Chad knocking your frat Brother smooth out at Kenwood Mall (see Takeo Spikes).

On the field, he shows up, plays hard for 3 hours, and has a good time doing it. CAN’T HATE THAT!

Plain and simple CJ85 is just to PROUD AND TO BLACK FOR CINCINNATI. Cincinnati, Ohio may be the most conservative place on earth. If you’re a black male pro athlete you can’t spit on the sidewalk without getting blasted by the local media.
In my opinion the Bengals need to trade him or pay him. Cincinnati needs to shut up or love him. Both need to relax and let the man play ball.

I disagree about TO as well, but great receivers are a bit @sshole-ish. It's what makes them great.

Ocho Cinco ( A cinco de mayo stunt turned good) will have to motivate the other receivers to step up so he can step up. No Housh means a more defensive attention (read: safety over top)

Palmer and Ocho living together means they will eat, sleep, talk, dream, and sh*t football 24/7/365.25. That can't do anything except make them both better. I see the rest of the team spending copious amounts of time at Palmer's house as a result. This could propel the Bengals to make a run at the AFC North.

Dope article homie. Loved it. You hit the nail on the head. Most important is who is he killing, raping, fighting, shooting, the boy is not even jay-walking. Maybe it seems like he is when he is burning NFL DB's, but he's not committed one crime. Also in no way is he a cancer or even a T.O. to a team...(notice how i say T.O. isn't even a cancer...he's worse)....Another thing, I don't see the NFL complaining when those Chad Johnson jersey's were selling and when the Ocho Cinco's will be or about the ratings they get off the Bengals. Think about this....what if Carson Palmer and Ocho Cinco both had season ending injuries in the same year? Remember the 1999 Broncos, Elway retires and Terell Davis out for the year in Week 4. Yeah, Ocho Cinco kept the team relevant last year more than ever.

What's ironic about OchoCinco is people like to give him a hard time about stuff that really doesn't matter (endzone dances, calling out DBs, etc), but they rarely mention how hard this dude works, how there were plenty of times he'd sleep at the Bengals facility, etc, etc, etc. Last year sucked, and I think he'll even admit that, but I definitely see him being top-five at his position again this year.

I love Ochocinco, and I always will. I think he's a great talent who does do simple things, but I think it's always been in fun, and not to really show people up.

I hope the Bengals can be a surprise team.... well.. maybe I don't they are in the same division as my Ravens LOL. But I want to see him play for a contender. No more Whoseyourmamma so he really has to step up for the team and produce.
