Seeing KG and ray playing together from the beginning would have been amazing. Garnett at that point in his career commanded so much attention from defenses that Allen would have been able to rain 3 pointers until the defenses would be forced to leave KG to cover ray then Kevin would have killed it in the low post I can say with some confidence that they would have won at least 1 or 2 rings they would have been the best one two punch in the NBA. Kevin Mchale is a fool for making that trade.

I know im commenting years later but probably the biggest problem i had with the argument from this article is the point that was made about the Bulls having trouble with good backcourts. No one decided to mention the final outcome when they played the "good backcourts". The outcome was the same. they still won. who cares if they had trouble? In the end, the only stat that matters is the W, and thats the exact stat Jordan and the Bulls put up numbers in. 72-10. 6 championships.

For most who know me in real (virtual) life, I can be pretty lighthearted about most things. But the ONE thing that I do not play around with in ANY regard is the safety and welfare of children.

"When you take a step back and really think about things, you can see the human element of what may have been going through the heads of these men."

The statement above is what I believe is a sad commentary on our society as a whole. I believe that "human element" has been DEVOLVING for some time now. Even in our communities...there was a time when gangsters and hoodlums wouldn't curse around women. When they would tell the children in the community to go home to their mothers before they began fighting/cutting/shooting. But now, everything is fair game.

I just can't believe that there wasn't a prick in these men's hearts to step in and do something. To throw caution to not getting a coaching gig or having a bad PR hit in the interest of saving a child from repeated violations of their innocence.

As Vice-President Hubert Humprhies (and others) stated, ‎"...the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life; the sick, the needy and the handicapped. "

The thing that gets me is not even the initial incident. We know that child abuse is an egregiously silent crime with silent victims that is sadly pervasive throughout our world [sidenote: the courage of these young boys to come forward...man...I can't even put it into words...]. But THE FACT that you let this man come BACK on campus...show up AT your practice...WITH ANOTHER YOUNG BOY...AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING?!?! That's just too much for me.

It's scary that the individuals who we trust to take care of our children, violate that trust in the most horrific of ways. The REALLY sad thing is that a charity was used to gain access to these young boys. Once again showing, that those in our world who are the most vulnerable are potentially the most likely to be preyed upon.

As I'm sure I'm rambling at this point [my apologies for the length] I'll stop now. This goes outside the realm of sports...we just HAVE to do better as a society.
